Jarok'S SOUL HURRICANE Mod V1.1 for

WARHAMMER 40.000 Dawn of War - Soulstorm

I just wanted to give the Tau additional
defense capabilities and tried until I
knew how give 'em one.

But...as I was working on it I tried other
things to change...

The conclusion is this Mod.

INSTALL INSTRUCTIONS:

Simply put the

SOUL HURRICANE.module
and the
SOUL HURRICANE folder

into your Dawn of War - Soulstorm directory.

Start the game.

Click on Game Manager.

Select SOUL HURRICANE - that's it.

NOTE: Haven't done the new descriptions
in english yet. For german descriptions
just copy the DXP2.ucs file into
Dawn of War - SoulstormDXP2LocaleGerman
DON'T FORGET TO BACKUP THE ORIGINAL FILE!!!

NOW WHATS IN THAT MOD?

Because of the enormous amount of changes
I did, here are only the most important
ones:

The TAU TURRET - this is a big, resized
model of the first TAU Listening Post addon,
but fitted with a much heavier version of
the LP Ion Cannon. It needs much building
space and you can only build 4 of them for
each Tau HQ. I used an other, smaller turret
in the V1.0 but I think the bigger one is
more Tau-like.

All max squad caps raised.

Nearly all Squads have more members.

Raised the amount for turrets and
generators per HQ to 30 instead of 6.

Added Missile Launcher and Flamer for
Chaos Space Marine squads.

Every member of a (Chaos) Space Marine squad
can upgrade to heavy weapons (after research).

The Defiler artillerie cannon fires now
faster and has more range.

Whirlwind now really earns his name. Try!

Hellfire Dreadnoughts can now reinforce
with double Lasercannon and Anti-vehicle
Missiles.

What's worser/better than a
Ressurected Monolith?
Two of them!

IG Sentinel has a new weapon upgrade:
Sentinel AUTOCANNON (effective against Infantry)
AND the Sentinel can now carry
single squads like Engineseer, Assassin aso.

Assault Cannons now have the ability to
"sweep away" foeish infantry - just like
in the DoW Intromovie when the Dreadnought
appears. Don't worry - it's not overtuned
and infantry only gets in real trouble
when they not strafe back. It's really cool
and balanced too.

The IG AssasSins has now some more specialised
abilities - it's fun to play that agent.

Some units (Wraithlord, Sentinel aso.)
have the ability to detect hidden units,
but only then they are very close.
I balanced that - trust me. Cloaking is
not for dump.

Faster firing rates for most eldar weapons.

Eldar support platforms attachable (and can
detect infiltrated units).

Additional defence is given for:

Space Marines - outpost build- and upgradeable.
TAU - as mentioned above.
Imperial Guard - outpost build- and upgradeable.

I also reduced some of the building space
e.g. the IG Bolter Turret had a field
space of 4 x 6 now it has 3 x 5.
Chaos, SM and Sororitas turrets need also
little lesser space.

The Living Saint can now more fly like a
kind of angel and her fire sword special
attack is much more usable because of a
realistic fast reload time.

All grenades and such things can be thrown
more often because of faster reload time.
(I hated to throw grenades mostly only
once - before it was reloaded the squad was
slayed.)

There's much more - even some units that
were'nt playable before I tried to make
them up to play.

IG Valkyrie - buildable at the vehicle building.

SM Thunderhawk - buildable at the vehicle building.
THERE'S NO THUNDERHAWK-ICON BUT IT'S THERE IN THE
LEFT DOWN CORNER OF THE VEHICLE BUILDING MENU.

TAU Orca - buildable at the vehicle building.


These units are all usable - but in lack
of knowledge in modelling I couldn't get
them work like they should.
They are all unarmed.
They can only move by "jumping" what means
that they have to fly like Jump Squads.
Don't worry - the starting and landing is
an sugar for the eye.
The flying itself only the Orca looks cool.
Thunderhawk and Valkyrie are flying sideways.

After all, they're usable to transport infantry
of all relevant kinds - except for the Orca
which can also carry TAU Tanks (but no Monsters).


I CHANGED SO MUCH MORE BUT NOW GET THIS
MOD STARTED AND FIND OUT BY YOURSELF!

Eigentlich wollte ich den Tau nur endlich
mal ein paar Verteidigungstürme verpassen.

Dann hab ich rausgefunden was man noch so
alles verändern kann...

Und es wurde umfangreich!
Hier nur ne kurze Liste:
(lang nicht alles - findet's selbst raus!)

Alle Squad Cap Limits hochgesetzt
(mindestens verdoppelt)

Pro HQ können nun bis zu 30 Türme und
Generatoren gebaut werden.

Der Bauplatz für Türme der SM, CM, AS und
Imperiale Armee wurde reduziert.

TAU und DARK ELDAR haben nun Türme.

Gebäude der CM und SM die Einheiten
transportieren können (Orbitalrelay z.B.)
haben nun angemessen Platz.

Chaos Space Marines können nun auch mit
Raketen- und Flammenwerfern ausgestattet
werden.

Die Geissel-Artillerie darf sich nun auch
so nennen (na gut, is kein Basilisk-Geschütz,
aber Kleinvieh macht auch Mist!).

Der SENTINEL kann kleinere Trupps
transportieren (Maschinenseher, Assassine usw.)

Der SENTINEL kann mit einer Autokanone
umgerüstet werden (effektiv gegen Infanterie).

Der HELLFIRE-CYBOT kann umgerüstet werden
um effektiver gegen Fahrzeuge und Gebäude
zu kämpfen (Zwillings-Laserkanone und
panzerbrechende anstatt Anti-Infanterie-Raketen)

Alle Laserwaffen laden nun doppelt so schnell
nach und sind effektiver gegen Infanterie
als vorher.

Sturmkanonen und Autokanonen können nun leichter
Infanterie "ummähen" (so wie der Cybot im
DoW Intro).

Der Whirlwind verdient seinen Namen jetzt.

Granaten und alles Ähnliche können
schneller wieder geworfen werden, Warpkanonen
ballern schneller, Geisseln laufen um einiges
hastiger, vier Land Raider sind ihnen auf
den Fersen unterstützt von drei verbündeten
Baneblades, die Predator und Leman Russ Panzer
flankieren das Ganze während die Lebendige
Heilige alle paar Sekunden mit ihrer
Feuerschwert-Spezialattacke Ketzer versengt.

Neue Einheiten:
SM Thunderhawk Transporter
TAU Orka Transporter
IG Valkyrie Transporter

Bis auf den Orka könne alle (leider bis jetzt)
nur Infanterie befördern.

Leider hab ich keine Ahnung vom 3D-Modelling
und schon gar nicht soviel Zeit (ich arbeite
ja nicht bei IRON LORE) sonst hätte ich die
Probleme bei diesen neuen Einheiten vielleicht
lösen können - kurz und knapp: THUNDERHAWK und
VALKYRIE fliegen nur seitlich, beim Orka
verschiebt sich nach der Landung der grüne
Einheitenkasten. Und ich musste einen Trick
anwenden um sie überhaupt bewegen zu können.

Schaut's euch einfach an...ist zwar nicht
unbedingt schön, aber man kann die Einheiten
nutzen.
