Step 1: Download Mental Omega 3.0 Public Beta installer.<br />

Step 2: Install C&C Red Alert 2 & Yuri's Revenge.<br />

To clear things up at start, Mental Omega 3.0 is NOT standalone. While Tiberian Dawn, Red Alert and Tiberian Sun are now freeware, Red Alert 2 and its expansion are not. This means in order to play Mental Omega 3.0, you require C&C Red Alert 2 and its expansion, Yuri's Revenge, on your PC.<br />

Despite the fact that Red Alert 2 & Yuri's Revenge were released over a decade ago, getting the games is still possible. You can use the original version, version from The First Decade, a 2006 C&C compilation, or one from The Ultimate Collection, the 2012 compilation available on Origin.<br />

If you are not interested in playing the campaigns of Red Alert 2 & Yuri's Revenge and are looking for a version of the game which fulfills the minimum requirements for Mental Omega 3.0, you can head over to Strike-Team, the officially supported servers for classic C&C multiplayer and download the special multiplayer-only versions of both games for free. Mental Omega 3.0 is compatible with those versions. However, you will still require a valid serial number for Red Alert 2 to play these online on XWIS.<br />

You don't need to have Yuri's Revenge patched to version 1.001 or NPSE as Mental Omega 3.0 does not require these patches. You don't need to use the game CD to play the mod either. Even with Mental Omega 3.0 installed, you can still play Red Alert 2 & Yuri's Revenge. Make sure you don't have any other modifications in the directory you want to install Mental Omega 3.0 in.<br />

Step 3: Install Mental Omega 3.0 Public Beta.<br />

Run the Mental Omega 3.0 Public Beta installer and follow the instructions on the setup screens. Select the path of the Yuri's Revenge directory in which you'd like to install Mental Omega 3.0. It does not have to be a directory tied to the Yuri's Revenge registry, in case you want to make a backup of the directory.<br />

Mental Omega 3.0 installer includes the Ares Expansion DLL but does not include the soundtrack.<br />

Step 4: Start the Mental Omega 3.0 launcher.<br />

The special launcher allows you to easily start Mental Omega 3.0 and automatically apply the Ares Expansion DLL to the game. Use the 'Launch Mental Omega' button if you want to play offline or online on XWIS. Use the second button if you want to play online on CnCNet. More multiplayer info here.<br />

The 'Play Windowed' option will automatically set your screen display mode to 16-bit to allow running the game in windowed mode. The screen display mode will return to 32-bit when you close the game.<br />

Make sure your Mental Omega 3.0 is updated to the latest version using the 'Check for updates' button. By checking the 'Update on startup' option, the launcher will look for updates every time you open it.<br />

The 'Launch map editor' button will start Final Omega APYR application which allows you to create Mental Omega 3.0 maps & missions. The map editor will be available to the public at a later time.<br />

The music note in the bottom right corner shows if the soundtrack file has been detected.<br />

We will only look into crashes and recon errors which happened with 'Enable debugging' option on, which is the default setting. The toggle was added in case someone is running on really low disk space.<br />

Do NOT close the Mental Omega launcher when the game is running. Close the game first.
